Got news? DBA members are invited to share news and announcements with the Decatur community. Fill out this form, providing complete information as requested. Type or copy and paste your story into the box called "Submission Text." Your article will be reviewed for appropriateness and possible inclusion in the next DBA E-newsletter.

Submissions are accepted on a first come, first served basis, limited to 15 submissions per newsletter. Newsletters are published on the first and the third Thursdays of each month, so submissions are due by the end of business the Monday prior to distribution.

Please note that graphic files are limited to no more than 250 pixels in any dimension (width or height) and must be 72 dpi, in .JPG or .GIF format. Images that exceed these parameters cannot be accepted.

Decatur City Dance Presents
"The 10th Annual Swinging Night of Tap" will be April 17 at 7 pm & April 18 at 3 pm and 7 pm in the Beacon Hill Studio Theatre, 410 W. Trinity Pl in Downtown Decatur.

Featuring 18 works, the show runs about two hours and is guaranteed to entertain audiences of all ages. Come enjoy a wide variety of dance and music styles. Most of the choreography is by Birda Ringstad, director of the Rhythm Keepers (an adult tap company), the Junior Rhythm Keepers (a teen tap company), and the Rug Cutters (a teen swing dance group).

Internationally-known tap dancer Josh Hilberman from Boston will appear as a special guest performer. 404-378-3388.

Decatur Music Center Now Enrolling Day Camp for Kids
The Decatur Music Center is now enrolling students in one and two-week long music-themed summer day camps for kids grades K through 6.

Summer music school intensive, world music, music theater, music video, and more. Students study with caring, professional faculty.

Opportunities to play and sing classical, jazz, rock, and roots music with friends in an encouraging environment. Something to satisfy every young musician and to keep any student busy and happy all summer long.

Jazzercise Raises Spirits and Money for Komen for the Cure
Jazzerthon for the Cure raised $190,000 for Komen Atlanta.

The team from DeKalb Jazzercise at East Decatur Station lead the opening dance at the event with Spirit! Atlanta Jazzercise instructors and customers raised a whopping $190,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure at the annual Jazzerthon for the Cure.

The Valentine's Day event, featuring a series of Jazzercise classes, was filled with high spirits and lots of smiles. All totaled, Jazzerthon for the Cure has raised more than $1.3 million for Komen Atlanta! Thanks to all our business partners and friends who helped us bring in our team's best charitable contribution ever!

Community Shred Day!
The Community School and Eagle Secure Shredding are sponsoring a Community Shred Day on April 24th from 10am-1pm at the First Baptist Church in Decatur. Come have your old tax records, bills, bank statements and other confidential documents shredded and recycled by Atlanta’s premiere shredding company.

Donations of $5 per bankers box (maximum of five boxes per patron) are welcome and all proceeds will support The Community School, a school for junior and high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
