Whit’s End Weekends
Jeff Gold and Greg Whitlock’s store Whit’s End has only been open for a month, and they are already eager to give back to the community. On a first-come basis, Whit’s End will offer any organization / PTA / PTO the opportunity to pick a weekend (Saturday and Sunday) to receive a percentage of the money earned those days on certain merchandise purchased at the store.

The organization will promote the concept before and during the event. The store will donate 10 percent of sales on all Columbia Sportswear and Levi-Strauss clothing, and 5 percent of sales on all other merchandise, excluding sale items and art on the walls.

Shoppers must mention the organization by name in order for it to receive the donation. For more information call 404-377-3310 or email whitsenddecatur@bellsouth.net.

Little Shop of Stories Nominated for Award

WNBA will present the award to two bookstores (one general and one children’s bookstore) at BookExpo America 2007 in New York on June 1. Each recipient will receive a check for $1,000 and a framed piece of original art by a children’s book illustrator. For the first time, the award will be sponsored by the Penguin Young Readers Group, a leading publisher of books for young people.
