Tessitura: Music and Movement Classes for the Young Child
Lynnette Suzanne, owner of Tessitura Studio and a board certified music therapist, teaches early childhood music and movement classes, working with children ages birth to 6 years. Her classes help children build the foundation they need not only to develop music skills, but also to have rich, fulfilling lives.
She explains: Music engages the brain by stimulating neural pathways associated with abstract thinking, empathy, and math skills. Aural discrimination and enhanced listening skills can increase school achievement. Developmentally appropriate music activities involve the whole child. And making music provides a way for children to express emotions in a positive way before they have the words.
Tessitura is at 409 Mead Rd., studio 6, and is now enrolling for fall classes. For more information call 404-370-1019, email Lynnette@MyTessitura.com, or visit www.MyTessitura.com.
